Vintage Suitcase (wow, thats sounds so unexciting)

I was pretty sure my dad was going to kick my *ss when I brought this suitcase home from a yard sale a little while ago. For only 2 dollars, it was a chance I was willing to take. I brought it inside and as I twinkle toed to the bottom of my stairs, I heard his voice, "What's that?"

"A suitcase."
"For what?"
"For uh, my craft fairs."
"I don't get it."
"You know, like I can open it and put things in it, like as a display."
"Oh, I get it as a prop?"
"Yes, a prop."

And I continued on my way up to my room and dumped it on my crowded floor. Even though I haven't had a craft fair since February, you never know when you're gonna need a suitcase with a collage on it.  "Tomorrow belongs to those who prepare today."Tell me you don't think hoarders would have a good chance of survival if some crazy disaster happened. They are ready for anything.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't like this dress for myself. It's a little too Laura Ingalls "Wild"er for me. It's definitely going in the Etsy shop I don't have yet. At least I realize it now that I've seen pictures of myself in it. Didn't Cher say that in Clueless? "I don't trust mirrors, so I always take polariods." Smart vegan.

P.S. I'm petrified of snakes, so it was really surprising I was able to purchase this suitcase. I thought it would be good phobia therapy for me. In my defense, growing up in the country snakes were a real threat esp. rattlesnakes. We found many and I always had to watch where I walked and ran when I played outside.

Your half pint,

  1. A vintage suitcase is always exciting!

  2. Darling I love love love the suitcase

I would have bought it for 2 dollars!

  3. Yes, I quite agree, this dress doesn't fit your body perfectly, but I still love the print ! And your haircut is adorable xo

  4. I love your humor in this particular blog post. The suitcase is cute!

  5. The suitcase is gorgeous! Your dress as well!

  6. I have narrowly missed stepping on sooo many rattlesnakes where I live. I've even seen a huge GREEN one. They don't really bother me, but I sure as heck don't want to get bitten. I'm kind of a pussy about pain lol.

That's a pretty cool suitcase. I also like your dress. And I guess I'm not the only one who keeps things to sell on etsy (even though I don't have an account yet either...LMAO!)

  7. I would of fought you for that suitcase. fast thinking for crafts. tu PaPa habla english? he is a strict viejon. yeah, el vestido te queda bien pero . Littel Casa on the Prairie, lol
I need to see you in shorter prostitute frocks.Se mira bien tranquilo donde vives.
    Y grite aye la culebra!

  8. Ha, I've finally had to stop the buying for the non-existent Etsy shop. I realised most of the stuff was not going to be bought by anyone sane. I think $2 for the suitcase was a bargain though. Come the zombie apocalypse that sucker's going to be worth it's weight. Or the craft fair. Whichever's first.

  9. City folk just don't understand snake phobias do they. I grew up on a farm and was petrified of them! x

  10. Those platforms are awesome!!

    Get Up & Go

  23. Suitcases as home decor: SO HOT RIGHT NOW. Seriously though, for $2, how could you not take it home? It's already paid for itself by standing in as a super-cute "fleeing your homeland" motif for this photo set.

I know what you mean about having something look better in your mind than it does in real life though. I think I have opposite body dysmorphic disorder--I always think I look hotter and thinner than I actually am. Oh well, here's to denial.

  24. You look so pretty in this outfit! I like your style!
Take a look at my blog, and if you like it, follow me, I'll be waiting for you!
